Women and Child Development Society (WCDS) have been running St. Joseph C.B.S.E School at Kadamboduvalvu village (via) Nanguneri, Tirunelveli district. Now the classes are conducted from Kinder garden to 5th standard. The rich and affordable parents are sending their children to the city schools aiming good education, spoken English, computer application, library, laboratory, sports and games facilities, etc. WCDS wanted to give the same quality education to poor rural children. The school follows the Central Government’s CBSE Syllabus with continuous comprehensive evaluation system.
The school provides motherly care and full protection to students, enchanting natural environment with spacious playground, Montessori method of teaching to toddlers, well ventilated comfortable class rooms, modern library, hi-tech science lab, computer lab and language lab, English speaking skill development by native English speakers and Anglo Indian teachers, development of life skills swimming, skating, karate, dance and music, art and craft, indoor and outdoor stadium for games, sports and physical exercises, development of total personality and leadership qualities, character building and world class education, periodical feed back and review meetings of parents and teachers, enjoyable life-oriented learning, bus facilities to all the surrounding villages, protected drinking water, etc. Qualified, experienced, efficient and dedicated teachers conduct the classes.
The school has been admitting students from the local and nearby villages. The majority of the parents are unable to pay the tuition and other fees. Very poor students are admitted with fee concession and some students are paying fees on instalments because their parents are very poor and daily coolie workers. Some students are very eager to study but at the same time they are unable to pay fees due to very poor income and poverty. The school admits those students without fees.
The school has been managing the expenses of salary for teaching, non teaching staff, administrative staff members, other staff members, etc. with very limited income by way of fees from some affordable students. With the very limited income from the students the school is unable to undertake developmental activities for the school.
