ST. JOSEPH COLLEGE OF EDUCATION
St. Joseph College of Education was established in 2006 by Women and Child Development Society (WCDS) and is run by the same, wherein educationists and protagonists of several years of competent experience in academic administration are sponsoring St.Joseph College of Education. The College is situated on Kalakad-Nanguneri Road in Tirunelveli District, which is approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), Bangalore and is affiliated to Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, Chennai-600 005.
Though it is a self financing institution, the college is meant for financially deprived and helpless students. It offers Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course of one year duration for both male and female candidates in the cheapest and quality mode. The college started its service from the academic year 2007-2008 and the sanctioned strength of the college is 100 students per year.
The college is admitting poor students from nearby villages and provides them with scholarships and some very poor students are admitted with fee concession. Some students are paying fees in installments due to the poor financial condition of their parents who are daily coolie workers. Some students are very eager to study but at the same time they are not able to pay fees due to their poverty. The college admits those students without any fees.
Under such circumstances the college has to manage the expenses of salary for teaching, non teaching staff, administrative staff members, other staff members, etc. with the fees collection from some affordable students. Due to very limited income from the students the college is unable to undertake developmental activities in infrastructure. We need additional building for classrooms, laboratory, library, staffrooms, dining halls for the students and staff, recreation, indoor sports halls, etc.View Website
